Having seen the West Coast with its lush forest and pristine beaches of black sand, I toured some of the quieter beaches on the east coast of the city. I started with a small beach hidden in a beautiful suburb near the city center, where you have to squeeze between the houses of wealthy owners with a glimpse of the fine white sand and crystal clear water of the bay. Then I went on the beach in Auckland, 10 minutes from the center, the one everyone is talking about, the one where everyone goes, Mission Bay beach.
